<p>The Zebra DS9808-R is a combination handheld/hands-free 1D/2D bar code and RFID reader with a revolutionary imaging engine to enable the capture of 1D and 2D bar codes as well as images and signatures. In addition, the range in handheld (triggered) mode can be increased to read RFID tags that are further away. The DS9808-R offers the flexibility to accommodate virtually any type of data capture application, including support for 1D and 2D paper and mobile barcodes, coupons, loyalty cards, boarding passes, PDF417 codes and the reading writing of RFID tags.</p>

<p>The comprehensive RFID feature set of the DS9808-R enables retailers to maximise the value of RFID technology in the store. In addition to reading tags to complete purchases, capabilities include the commissioning of tags for new inventory items and returned goods. Built-in filtering prevents accidental multiple entries of the same tag - a single beep sounds as the tag data is captured and entered into the transaction, just as if a bar code was scanned, providing a familiar and intuitive process that eliminates the need for extra training. Special RFID data conversion software can be used for on-the-fly translation of the EPC tag data to EAN/UPC bar code entry. A pilot test or full RFID solution can be implemented quickly, easily and cost-effectively into any existing retail environment.</p>

<p>The unique tri-function trigger design enables retailers to assign up to three specific functions in the same trigger. For example, the upper and lower triggers could activate the bar code reader for 2 different read types and pressing both triggers together could activate the RFID reader.</p>

<p>Switching from hands-free presentation style scanning to handheld mode is as easy as picking up the device. Capture any printed or electronic 1D/2D bar code with the enterprise-class imager � even if they are dirty, damaged or poorly printed. Easily toggle between RFID and bar code scanning with a simple button tap, maximising ease of use and productivity.</p>
