UMD Mobile Applications is based on a rapid-application development environment, which reduces time to digitise data collection and approval processes to make them fast and efficient, allowing your business to save money and optimizing your mobile device investment.   

Alternatively, you can choose (or modify) from a growing library of UMD's Productivity and Companion applications.

UMD Industrial Mobile Applicaitons also supports automated, customised workflows. This enables organisations to quickly act on data in near real-time while having full visibility into what data has been collected, who has seen it, where it is in the approval process and where it is going next. This helps cut costly, time-consuming bottlenecks, making you more productive and enabling service delivery in a snap.  

UMD Industrial Mobile Applicaitons comes in two versions:

• UMD Mobile Productivity Applications (MPA) – are typically stand-alone applications for data collection and workflows.
• UMD Companion Applications (MCA) – are designed as companions to main or existing applications (eg. Warehousing Terminal) to add additional functionality.

Deployment

• UMD's Industrial Mobile Applicationsis based on a Rapid Application Development Tool from SOTI (SOTI SNAP), applications are also designed to be deployed and managed via SOTI’s Mobile Device Management (MDM) application and is included as part of the subscription

• The MDM is used to
• Deploy mobile applications to mobile devices
• Manage devices, including access control
• Manage device updates (operating systems and security patches)
• Enable UMD to provide general support via remote device access

• Organisational profiles can also be set up to enable users to select from a list of UMD's Industrial Mobile Applications that are made available.
